Stephen O’Brien joined Davie in 2013 as an advisor to the CEO. Since then, he has held several key positions within the company before being appointed Vice-President, Business Alignment and Continuous Improvement in early 2025. In this strategic role, Stephen leads core functions in continuous improvement, quality assurance, and document control. He is also responsible for optimizing alignment between the company’s business and operational objectives, working closely with many functions within the operations group. With a career entirely dedicated to the shipbuilding and ship repair industry, Stephen has held senior leadership roles at major companies, including Irving Shipbuilding. An industrial engineer by training, he is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University and Dalhousie University, and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
